The essentials

Editorial standards

This page explains how we make, publish and correct our guides.

1. What we publish

Practical guides on Government schemes, Careers and education, and Law and your rights. We explain what the official sources say, in simple language.

2. Our sources

We rely mainly on official, publicly available sources: government departments and portals, Acts and gazette notifications, court orders, Parliament, and regulators such as the Reserve Bank of India. The sources each guide relies on are listed on each book page and inside the reader, with the issuer, the section and the date.

3. Confirming and publishing

If a point cannot be confirmed from an official source, the guide tells you where to confirm it: your nearest information centre, or your lawyer for legal questions. A guide goes live only after it has been approved in our publishing system. Uploading a file never publishes it.

4. Dates and editions

Every book page shows the guide’s publication date and the date it was last verified. Each title is published as an annual edition, and Pitara Library may publish monthly update editions that continue it. Rules, schemes and procedures can change at any time. Always confirm the current position with the official source before you act.

5. Corrections

If you find something that is wrong or out of date, tell us through the Contact us page. We publish a correction as a new revision of the same edition. Readers who already have that edition receive the corrected text without paying again, and earlier revisions are kept in our records.

6. Languages

Each guide is written first in English. The Hindi and regional-language editions are translations prepared with the help of AI tools. They are not official or certified translations. If a translation reads wrongly, please tell us.

7. What our guides are not

A guide is not legal, financial, medical, career or government advice for your case. It does not decide your case and does not promise any approval, admission, payment, job or outcome. Pitara is not a government body and does not claim government approval. Examples in our law guides are fictional, and no outcome is guaranteed.

8. Advertising and data

Pitara does not use advertising cookies or third-party advertising trackers. See our Privacy policy.
