About these terms.

These terms describe how Pitara Library (“Pitara”) sells and provides reading access. Pitara is operated by Pranit Prakash Wankhede. Contact details are on the Contact us page.

What Pitara sells.

Pitara sells account-based reading access to digital books. Books open only in the Pitara reader, on the website or in the installable web app, while you are signed in. Pitara does not provide PDF, EPUB, ZIP or other downloadable copies, and it does not sell or ship physical books. An internet connection is needed to read, except for books you download for offline reading inside Pitara.

Your account.

You sign in with a one-time code sent to an email address or phone number you have verified. Purchases belong to your Pitara account rather than to one email address or phone number, so changing or linking a verified contact keeps your purchases. Keep access to your sign-in email and phone secure.

Purchases are made by adults. At checkout you confirm that you are 18 or older, or a parent or guardian buying for a reader under 18.

Individual editions.

An individual purchase gives lifetime access, through your Pitara account, to the specific edition you bought. Corrections Pitara publishes for that edition are included without paying again. A new major edition is a separate product that may be sold separately; it is not included in an earlier edition’s purchase, and the edition you bought stays linked to your account.

Monthly update editions.

The rules, schemes and official procedures our books describe can change at any time. Each title is published as an annual edition, and Pitara may publish monthly update editions that continue it. A monthly update edition is a separate book: buying one edition does not include later monthly editions, which can be bought separately or read with an eligible membership while it is active. Always confirm the current position with the official source before you act.

Memberships.

All-access memberships, monthly or annual, include eligible books in every available category and language during a paid period, including eligible new releases. An annual category pass includes eligible books in one category you choose, in every available language, during a paid period. Eligibility and availability are shown in the catalogue.

A membership renews automatically for the same period until you cancel, for at most 10 years from its first payment: 120 monthly or 10 annual payments, including the first. After the last of those payments, renewal ends and access continues until the end of the period it paid for. Its billing status and its paid access period are tracked separately: you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for, even after you cancel renewal or a renewal payment fails. See the cancellation and refund policy.

Prices and payment.

Prices are shown in Indian rupees (INR) on the Membership page and on each book page, and include GST: the price shown is the total you pay, and checkout shows the GST included in it before you pay. Pitara’s server sets the amount charged; Razorpay processes the payment. Reading access is added only after Razorpay confirms the payment to Pitara. A success message in your browser alone does not grant access.

Book content.

Each book page shows the edition, its coverage or verification dates, corrections and any disclaimer. Pitara does not claim that its content cannot be copied, and it uses account-based access rather than downloadable files such as PDF or EPUB.

Offline reading.

You can download eligible books for offline reading on up to 3 devices. A purchased edition stays readable offline and is re-checked whenever your device is online. Books from a membership stay readable offline until your paid period ends, and your device must connect at least every 30 days to keep them. Refunded purchases and ended memberships are removed from your devices the next time they connect. Signing out removes downloads from that device. Offline copies can be read only in the Pitara app.
